Anita Chamberlain, North Carolina Notary Public, now offers in-office notary services by appointment at Mountainscape Realty.
Appointments are required. Notary services are available to the general public, but Anita is not always in the office during normal business hours. Please contact Anita in advance to schedule an appointment.

What to Bring
Each person signing the document must appear in person and provide acceptable identification.
- Bring the document that needs to be notarized.
- The document should be completed before your appointment, except for the signature.
- Do not sign the document before meeting with the notary.
- Documents that have already been signed cannot be notarized.
- Bring a valid, acceptable form of identification.
Acceptable Forms of Identification
- Valid driver’s license issued by any U.S. state
- State-issued identification card
- U.S. passport or passport card
- Military identification card
- Permanent Resident Card, also known as a Green Card
Important Limitations
A notary verifies identity and witnesses signatures as required by law.
- The notary cannot provide legal advice.
- The notary cannot explain the legal effect of a document.
- The notary cannot tell you which type of notarial certificate your document requires.
- The notary may decline service if the document, identification, or circumstances do not meet legal requirements.
